My works are investigations of natural forms, both visible and invisible to the human eye. Origin, transparency, and identity are common threads in my work.
Intricately and sensitively rendered, my works incorporate a physical layering of materials with a metaphorical layering of meaning. I seek to gain a deeper understanding of my subject and to establish relationships between ideas through careful observation and reflection. Experimentation and discovery are vital to the progression of each piece. My process requires careful, considered construction while allowing space for an image to grow and evolve from the materials and the method of its own creation.
